Never seem to have enough time to get everything done? No matter what you do, you’re never going to have more than 24 hours in a day. You can however, DO more in those 24 hours if you follow these cleaver time saving strategies:
Everything in its place – Searching for misplace items can be frustrating and an unnecessary waste of time. Instead, keep things where you will need them. A basket or decorative bowl can be used to hold spare change, keys and sunglasses when not in use. A small filing cabinet is ideal for bills and important paperwork.
Become a list lover – Set aside some time once a week (or daily if you prefer) to write you To Do List. Prioritize tasks and check them off as you finish each one.
Track activities with a weekly calendar – A dry erase board is a perfect way to keep track of all the family’s multiple commitments. This is also a great way to avoid overextending yourselves. If the spots on the calendar are filling up, may be it’s time to say ‘no’ to that next activity.
Touch it only once – Get into the habit of sorting mail as it arrives. Discard unwanted mail right away so it doesn’t clutter your countertop.
Plan meals in advance – If you are rushed in the morning, have quick meals like cereal and fresh fruit on hand for breakfast. If the evenings are your hectic time, consider cooking once a week and freezing meals so all you have to do is heat them up at dinnertime. That way, you’ll only have to go grocery shopping once a week as well. Leftovers make great lunches the next day too – saving you even more time and money.
