staged home 135x100 Tips for Staging your HomeWhen you begin to sell your home, the hardest part is to actually set it up for potential buyers to view. In other words, staging your home is difficult, because you are making it suit a potential buyer’ needs, not your own. Today I will give you several tips which will make it easy for you to stage your home.

1. Depersonalize and Declutter
You have to remove any personal items around your home to allow buyers to imagine living in your home; this is done by removing family pictures, children’s artwork, etc. Remember to remove any extra furniture or accessories; it will allow rooms to feel and look bigger. Thereby, allowing the potential buyers to imagine their furniture in the room.

2. Neutral home Decor
You have to appeal to a wide set of tastes, therefore you should have your home set to suit buyer’s taste not your own.

3. Capitalize on Curb Appeal
You have to make sure your home’s exterior is elegant to attract potential buyers.

4. Repair
Make sure you have done the necessary repairs to ensure your house sells. This could be anything from fixing a light switch to a leaky faucet. What you might have found comfortable and cozy in your home may not create the same feelings for someone who is looking to buy it.

5. Clean, and clean again
You have to clean your home from top to bottom. That means everything, from washing the windows inside and out to having all the furniture and carpets cleaned. You have to realize that the cleaning job you might normally do will not cut it when trying to sell your home.

6. Brighten up your home
When you do have an open house, place fresh flowers on the table or light scented candles around your home. Remember to turn on all your lights, and rest assured you have done all you can in preparing to sell your house.

By following the tips above you can prepare your home to sell without having to spend too much on a professional stager. Keep in mind, that it is always good to have a second opinion; what you think is a good idea might really not be. Hiring a professional stager will definitely give you the advice you need to sell your house quickly.
