In today’s real estate market, some sellers might feel that open houses are a waste of time, which could and should be spent on giving private showings to buyers.
Now this is sadly mistaken, and by not having any open houses, you are missing out on a great opportunity to show your house to a limitless amount of buyers in a day.
Granted, you will find that in an open house, there will be buyers who are there to pass time and are not serious at all about buying your house, however there will be a time when a buyer will come along who is not only serious about buying a house, but serious about your house.
In the event that this does happen, you will most likely be requested to have a private showing and from there anything could happen, with the best result being your house is sold.
With open houses, the reason they are ideal is because it allows buyers who might not have time to book a private showing to come when it is more suitable for them to view your home, and if they do have a family full of kids, they are likely to bring them as well.
Next time you refuse to have an open house, stop and consider what can possibly come from it.
