When looking to purchase a home you have to remember that although it will be the place your and your family will live in, it is also an investment and like any other investment, you will want to see it grow.
A question that you will find yourself asking is how much your home will be worth in the future.
Estimating your homes future value will take a lot of informed guessing, however you can always make a good estimate of the future value with a bit of research and time.
For whatever neighbourhood you are looking in or live in you should look back at past data on prices in that specific location for several years.
By location I mean the city you are in; you will examine the price increase per year then find the average.
From there you should examine any neighbourhoods you have in mind, or the one you are currently living in.
Although there is no guarantee what housing prices will be or do but remember that location and the condition of the home are important factors as is the economy as a whole.
Remember if you plan on renovating your home with the hopes to increase its value, remember that if you do a project badly or the work is not good you will only be damaging the value of your house.
