Organized Real Estate is a term used in Canada which is defined as a relationship that exists between real estate boards at a regional/municipal level, provincial associations, and The Canadian Real Estate Association. This 3 way relationship demands that all members of organized real estate in Canada be engaged in a heightened level of professionalism and are constantly improving their services to the public.

Well, this gives you some information which is the first step to empowering yourself when starting your work with a Realtor. It’s good to know that we live in a country that systemically governs the ethics and practice of a group of professionals who are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that people are taken care of when purchasing or selling their homes! It’s equally important to know that when you are working with a Realtor that individual must be responsible for keeping up their training and education… If they’re not on top of their training and education they may potentially loose the right to practice Real Estate!
So in fact when you come across a Realtor, you can rest assured that they must be capable and competent of representing your bests interests! The difference between Realtors is how much training they do above and beyond what they are required to do by the Profesional Associations and boards.
There was once a time in Canada that individual home owners needed to watch out for Real Estate Sales Professionals who had less or no governance! Now imagine, if you were selling your home and a person approached you and convinced you that he could sell your home and wasn’t completely honest with what he was going to do for you! I must tell you that a lot of people got hurt (financially, and emotionally). Then came a time where sellers were protected by representation and nobody was representing the buyers! We’ve come a long way to where we are today where all citizens whether buyers or sellers of Toronto, Ontario, and Canada have the right to be represented and protected by the formal training and unbiased protection of a professional who is responsible for protecting and representing the rights of the buyer and the seller during any Real Estate Transaction!
A lot of times people feel that when they are signing a contract they are signing away their lives, I on the other hand view it as a clear way of conducting a business transaction that ties both parties into a mutually victorious transaction! (ONLY IF I UNDERSTAND THE CONTRACT!!!). This contract must be explained to YOU, the client in a way that YOU can understand what will be happening, I would advise you to NOT sign anything unless you completely understand what you are signing. When it comes to Real Estate transactions all Real Estate Professionals MUST explain what the agreement entails, clause by clause!
