It is the moment you have been waiting for ever since you decided to purchase a home, the final steps in the Homebuying process.
Closing day is the day you achieve your goal, taking legal possession of the house, finally able to call it your own.
You will feel great satisfaction; however remember there are a few things that need to be done on closing day.
You will have your lender provide the mortgage to your lawyer, and you must then provide the balance of purchase price to your lawyer along with closing costs.
Closing costs are additional to the purchase price of the home, they are such things as legal fees, transfer fees and disbursements that are payable on closing day. They range anywhere from 1.5% to 4% of a home’s selling price.
Your lawyer will pay the vendor, register the home in your name and then give you the deed and keys to your new home.
With closing day behind you, it is time to hire a mover. Moving is something you have to be prepared for the moment you decided you are purchasing a house, having prepared for this day. A cost efficient way to move is to have family and friends help with the move, however if you want to hire a professional company it is not a bad idea.
It is finally moving day and you begin to carry your personal belonging to your new home. You will spend time unpacking and arranging your house the way you want it.
Say goodbye to your old neighborhood and hello to your new one. This can be very exciting.
Planning for the move can be stressful if you do not plan ahead, and what I recommend is that once you have purchased the home, do not wait until closing day to sort out your moving arrangements. You will save yourself the time and stress involved if you rush the process.
Hopefully the Homebuying Step by Step Guide is able to help you throughout the Homebuying process. Look forward to more guides to help you in the real estate world.
