Before you begin searching for a home, you need to consider both your current and future needs.
Consider size requirements, such as the amount of bedrooms, bathrooms and garages. If you are newlyweds, and considering of having a baby in the near future, you need to find a home with at least 2 bedrooms, one being the nursery. Take into consideration the amount of space you will need to satisfy you current and future family.
You should also be considering if you want any special features in the home, such as a swimming pool or a fireplace in the master bedroom.
Consider anything and everything you will need now and in the future; the best way to go about this is to buy a home that meets most of your needs for the next 5 – 10 years, or a home that you can grow and change into what you need.
Location is key when you are searching for a home. Whether you want to live in the city, close by where you work or near schools for your children. Take into consideration facts like I stated before you settle on a house.
Now the biggest question you will come upon is whether to buy a New Home of Resale Home. To help you make the best decision there, RealtyKitchen.com has articles dedicated to this topic. (It can be found here)
From there you have to choose the type of home. This includes options such as Single-family Detached such as Semi-detached homes, or a Duplex – two single family homes located on above the other in a building.
I feel choosing the type of home is an important topic that should be properly discussed in a later date, however the idea is here as to what to look for.
