When you are choosing a place to live, you need to carefully evaluate any prospective accommodations.
A few key concerns are safety, cleanliness and location. If you have a family, then other key concerns might be schools, parks and daycares.
It is never easy to find the perfect location to live in, however when you do, everything will fall into place.
When you begin searching, you should have already made a budget of how much you can afford on living costs. From there you have to prioritize what is most important to you in a home.
Each rental unit you visit, be prepared to write down such information as basic monthly rent, and service costs for utilities not included in the rent. That might include hydro, internet, heat, etc.
When evaluating the rental unit, also look at the entire building; what does the building offer you? Is it brand new? Do you have recreational facilities? You have to list reasons that the building itself is attractive, and why you should live in it, aside from the actual rental unit.
After visiting several rental units, make a comparison sheet of each location. From that comparison you should be able to determine whether the rental unit is suitable for you.
