1180381 stucco turret house4 135x100 Buyers Beware Part 2Continuing from yesterday, we will get into another warning that buyers must know before they decide to purchase a home.

Today’s warning will be on grow op houses.

As you might already know, a grow op house is a house that people use to grow marijuana. The condition of a house after being used for a grow op is extremely bad.

You will find mould around the house and many other harmful substances throughout the home.

Although, before the home can be sold, it has to undergo many renovations to make it up to standards, it still does not relinquish the fact it was once used for drug operations.

Guidelines have now been created for standards to clean up properties that were used for grow ops, which is something that has been long needed for Canadians.

Disclosure on these properties is not obligated, unless the buyer or buyers real estate agents inquires it does not have to be released.

Of course, if that was released, the house would not be as desirable, or it would be expected that the house price be dropped adequately.

With that said, you should inquire to why a house has been priced so low, or what is most likely to happen is that the house is relisted multiple times.

Hopefully, as a buyer you do not face this problem, because a great house can be ruined if it was used for such operations, however if you do find that it has been properly cleaned, then by all means, make the purchase when you see fit.
