Moose Jaw Host to the WCC Dairy Show

Moose Jaw will be hosting the Western Canadian Classic (WCC) Dairy Show starting Tuesday August 24^th till Saturday August 29^th.

This year marks the 25^th anniversary of the WCC Dairy Show, and will be held at the Golden Mile Arena. The show consists of 90 – 100 dairy 4-H children across Western Canada.

Kids will be arriving on Tuesday at a range of 12 – 21 years old noted Neil Crosbie, who is the organizer of the event.

The children will be taking part in various competitions throughout the week, the first event starting on Wednesday August 25^th.

This is the first time Moose Jaw has held the WCC, also the first time in many years that the Dairy Show has been held in our great city.

There will be 30 children from British Columbia, 30 from Alberta and 20 from both Saskatchewan and Manitoba in this year’s WCC Dairy Show.

The competitions will include dairy quizzes, clipping, having their dairy cattle judges, a showmanship of their calves, conformation classes and a stall display.

The year’s theme for the stall display is 25 Mooveless years. The excitement is building as we wait to see what the kids will come up with this year.

There will be an opening ceremony on Friday August 28^th, followed by showmanship classes and the special alumni showmanship classes.

On Saturday August 29^th, there will be conformation classes beginning at 10:00 a.m. and it will be followed by the awards banquet later that night.

Individual awards will be given out, as well as a premier province award.

This will be a great event at Moose Jaw, packed with many kids having a enjoyable time.
