Developers are hoping to breathe new life into the Chartwell project after purchasing the site last week.
The former Medican site between Strachan Road and Southland Drive was purchased by Livewell Communities out of Calgary on August 15th.
This project will be revitalized and changed a bit in terms of what has been designed for the site at this point. The company plans on rebranding the project under the name Chartwell Gardens.
Medicine Hat is known in western Canada for having great gardens, as such, the community will be themed with its own garden and greenhouse for the residents of the 45 plus company.
So far, 5 homes from phase 1 have been sold, and the developer is busy trying to landscape the boulevard area in preparation for the Sept. 12 grand launch of its four show homes.
This entire project will take 3 years to fully develop over 104 lots.
With 950 square foot, two bedroom models homes starting anywhere from $119,000 and up, there is much optimism around buyers getting excited.
Creating a market for buyers who wish to downsize their homes is the appeal of these homes. Buyers are becoming cautious and looking to downsize, nothing is better than having these homes as options.
This is Livewell’s first project in Medicine Hat, and it has so far been a positive experience for them.
The City of Medicine Hat went out of their way to help meet the needs with this project as it continues to move ahead.
