The city of Lethbridge has gotten new transit buses, which might not run faster but the new look is fantastic.
Five low floor NovaBus vehicles were unveiled as the newest in LA Transit fleet, allowing the aging General Motors coaches to be retired, while providing extra capacity for planned route improvement.
With these new buses Lethbridge allows to compensate ridership and route frequency increases.
The Lethbridge City council approved the purchase of these new buses earlier this year when the NovaBus tender came in lower than New Flyer, builder of all the other full sized, low floor buses going throughout Lethbridge routes.
These new buses will be covering recent route upgrades, and another one will be used for more Westside route improvements next fall.
The bus service will also be required to the new Crossings community when two new high schools open there in fall 2010.
This is great to see that Lethbridge is receiving the type of upgrades to satisfy the growing community and increasing need of public transportation.
By giving access to more public transportation, this makes Lethbridge more attractive to buyers and people who decide to move into a new city.
Although this is a slight change, it will greatly help the city of Lethbridge.
