An attraction that can be traced back almost a decade, when the Reimer’s first decorated their basement of their 100 year old home and dubbed it the “Dungeon of Doom”.
It started out as a one night thrill for kids on Halloween and has evolved to what we know it as today, the “Haunted Mansion and Dungeon of Doom”.
This 7,000 square foot attraction drew almost 1,000 visitors, which includes visitors from all over Alberta, British Columbia and even some from Mexico and Japan.
This is a tradition that has truly evolved through the ages.
There is a maze of narrow musty passages throughout the basement, and recently the display encompasses most of the main floor of the two-storey brick house.
Every Halloween, this house’s basement is turned into a great attraction; it’s as if it was created for this purpose. It is a natural place to set up a Halloween display.
With the demand growing, the home owners have been opening the mansion earlier and earlier throughout October. The mansion is open from noon – 9:00 p.m. daily, with spook nights starting from 5:00 – 10:00 pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Admission is charged at the door.
This year marks the first time that the Haunted Mansion and Dungeon of Doom will be kept open a few days after Halloween.
What I love about this attraction is that it shows what some decorating can do to a house. It goes to show that you can take a house as a blank slate, and from there you begin to paint the picture you want, creating the image you want to show people.
Consider this when you are selling your home, decorating is a key part of it, and once you take the time you can make your house into just about anything you want.
This is a great local attraction to take your family to, or even a pit stop while trick or treating. You can never go wrong with this attraction, however be warned, you will be in for great scare.
