1207657 vancouver 11 135x100 Tips on Hiring a LandscaperYour landscaping is one a central point on your house’s curb appeal; having it done professionally will more likely help it sell than not.

With the amount of landscapers out there, it is hard to decide on one that works best for you.

By following the tips I have laid out, the job should be made a bit easier.

1. Referrals and References
There is nothing better than a satisfied client; asking your friends and family for their recommendations on which landscaper provides the best work is always a great way to go about it. Another way to do so is to check the landscaper’s references. These would be their past clients; if you cannot speak to them then have a look at the work that was done.

2. Get a Contract
When negotiating a price, never let the contractor be aware of the maximum you will spend. Once the price is agreed upon, have everything put in writing. In your contract have everything stated clearly, start and end date, cost of materials, grade of materials, etc. Once you have a contract written out , always have a lawyer look over it, to ensure it is fair for both you and the landscaper.

3. Getting Informed
There are dozens of gardening books and magazines you can read; the more you can communicate with your landscaper the more effectively you can communicate what you want exactly. Landscapers have years of experience behind them, it will take more than reading a few books to be on their level, but it will help to know what they are talking about in terms of plants and garden design.

These 3 tips will help you decide on a landscaper, as it covers everything from finding one, the legal issues and the technical issues. Once it is all over with, you can be proud knowing you have landscaping which will be the envy of your street.
