Having the freedom to go in whenever you want, and having it all to yourself is definitely better than taking a drive to the nearest community pool.

When placing a pool, there are several safety tips you should follow to ensure your family, primarily children. Drowning is one of the major causes of accidents resulting in serious injury and death in children.

To help ensure your children are safe, I have outlined important safety precautions that should be followed.

1.       Enclose you pool with high fences that can be locked. Never leave the pool open, as children might wander in and possibly fall     inside.

2.       Whenever you are using your pool always completely lift the cover from the pool. Do not partially open the pool; if someone falls into it there is a high possibility of it leading to death.

3.       Always monitor your children while they are swimming. It is common to develop a cramp underwater or hitting your head while diving to occur. By having adult supervision it will be easy to help your children if a problem arises.

4.       For proper pool safety, ensure there is always a life saving floatation device nearby the pool.

5.       As a parent, you should learn the basic of CPR techniques in case of any accident

6.       Do not allow children with no knowledge whatsoever of swimming in or around the pool. Ensure they have the proper equipment (a life jacket) to help keep them afloat.

Having a pool can be a great addition to any home as it will bring countless hours of fun and relaxation to you and your family. Being responsible is also another attachment that will come with owning a pool, by following these tips you are ensuring the safety of both you and your family.
