The largest commercial solar panel project in Western Canada is being installed in out very own Medicine Hat, and in just a few weeks it should be operational.
Installation of this 30 megawatt project has been going on the Ridge Building on Seventh St. S.W over the weekend and the system is hopefully going to be up and running by the end of November.
So far, three of the business operators in the building have signed up for 10 megawatts each.
Renewable energy is the path to be on, it is the power of the present and will be more dominant in the future.
Now, the cash investment for this kind of project is high, however with Medicine Hat’s HatSmat program, it makes it possible for business owners to tap into solar energy.
Through the HatSmart program, the city will cover up to half the project costs with a maximum of $50,000 available.
With the HatSmart program, it made this project feasible and has opened the doors to solar energy for Medicine Hat.
Solar energy is not only being taken advantage by business owners, but homeowners as well. Households can access up to $6,000 from the HatSmart program for home-based solar energy production.
Solar energy is simply clean and green. You cannot go wrong with it as an energy supply.
