Thanks to the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program, the Board of Education of School District No. 36 will undertake upgrades to Queen Elizabeth Secondary School; this is a major job creating investment from Canada`s Economic Action Plan.
Federal funding for this project will improve recreational opportunities in Surrey.
Projects likes this one helps create immediate jobs, and helps build the foundation for Surrey`s future growth.
As mentioned, funding will be provided through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program as part of Canada`s Economic Action Plan totaling $17,000.
This project will result in two new tennis courts and one new basketball court.
The new basketball court will be able to convert into a third tennis court if it is required.
Project activities include site preparation, paving, fence and gate installation, purchasing of tennis nets, posts and basketball stands.
This facility will be open to the public upon completion by December 31st, 2009.
