Moose Jaw has been waiting for a long time to see improvements to the Union Hospital, and it seems that the wait might get even longer.
The provincial government released its latest financial report on Thursday November 19th, it showed that it cut spending on various health care projects, to help make up for a massive shortfall in potato revenues.
It has been noted that the Union Hospital expansion would not be affected because the money that has been set aside for its planning was still being left in its place.
It has also been noted that those projects that were losing their funding this year would be funded in future years when money was needed.
The government plans to spend money in future years that were originally set to be used this year, and yet not exceed its planned spending.
The other projects that had money set aside for them this year could be placed ahead of the Union Hospital expansion. If the government needed to limit funding so it could pay for the projects that were supposed to go ahead this year, then those projects that were supposed can possible go down the list the list even further and this can possibly include expansion.
Well, there is no proof as of yet that the expansion could get sent to the back of the bus, this is something that all of Moose Jaw must watch out for.
