Recently, there was information released that the city council will conduct a review of the city’s premise bylaw and report back in December with options that would reduce the amount of time it takes to deal with such complaints.
The complaints generally include a homeowner or renter whose yard is cluttered with junk, which only makes the neighbourhoods’ image do down.
I am writing today to hopefully save some time by the city council, so they can work on more stressing matters.
Your home is a reflection of yourself, unless the image you want to portray is bad, then take care of your yard.
Look at it from this perspective, for your neighbours who might be currently selling their house, or considering it, your home is bringing down the chances of that even happening.
When a buyer drives through a neighbourhood, the last thing they want to see is an unsightly yard in any house nearby any potential home they might buy.
Save your city the time and money, and clean up your yard. It would not take much out of you, and if you look at it one way, you are setting up your house to put on the market if you ever choose to do so. By having multiple homes sell in your neighbourhood, it can show potential buyers that your area is desirable and if by chance you put your house on the market, you might not have to wait long before it is sold.
